I was born on Nov.7, 1965, in Staten Island, N.Y., the eighth and last child of Patricia (Fay), an artist, and Joseph Egelhof, a New York City correspondent for the Chicago Tribune.
After high school, I worked in New York City’s financial district and studied Interior Design at Parson’s School of Design. In 1987, I married Patrick Timothy Mullikin, a newspaper and magazine writer and editor, and moved to Vermont where we have lived since and raised our two children, Suzannah, 19, and Brendan, 20.
Since 1994, I have been working in the field of health care financing, both on the provider side and the insurance side. In 2004 I returned college while working full time. I completed an Associate of Science degree in accounting from Community College of Vermont in 2006 and a Bachelor of Arts in business management from Johnson State College in 2008, graduating magna cum laude. |
